Federal State Unitary Enterprise «Atomflot» is a Russian company and service base that maintains the world's only fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers. It is part of the Rosatom group and is based in Murmansk. Atomflot is designed to ensure the operation and technological maintenance of nuclear icebreakers and auxiliary fleet vessels. Its main activities include ensuring safe and stable navigation, including transit navigation, through the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The company operates a fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers, including the Arktika. Beyond cargo transportation, Atomflot also organizes tourist cruises to the North Pole and Central Arctic islands, performs maintenance and repairs for its own fleet and external ship-owners, and participates in environmental rehabilitation activities in Russia's North-Western region.
