How we calculate Shipyard Visits
AIS observations are matched to facility polygons to build visit records. Coverage depends on reception, polygon quality and source updates.
Geofenced Polygon Detection
Recorded AIS positions are matched to shipyard areas. The directory includes visits linked to known vessels and visible shipyard profiles; unattributed records are excluded.
Duration & Status Tracking
Arrival, departure and recorded duration describe the available source record. Missing departures do not prove a vessel is still in the yard. Some visits are inferred from AIS blackouts and are labelled separately.
Drydock Classification
Source classifications distinguish drydock, afloat and unknown records. A classification is observational evidence, not confirmation of repair activity, dock bookings or available capacity.
