Armscor Dockyard Simon's Town

Primary maintenance and refitting authority for the South African Navy, managed by Armscor (Armaments Corporation of South Africa) since 2007. Located in Simon's Town, Cape Town. Historic naval hub since the 18th century, transitioning from Dutch East India Company to British Royal Navy to South African Navy (1957 Simonstown Agreement). Facilities: Selborne Graving Dock (commissioned 1910, handles large naval vessels), Syncrolift (60m x 15m), deep-water port access, extensive workshops, covered repair sheds. Services include vessel refitting, modernization, hull treatment, propulsion system overhauls, materials testing, corrosion surveys, non-destructive testing, condition monitoring, and engineering changes. Essential for sustainment of SA Navy frigate and submarine flotillas. Also accepts commercial and recreational vessels when capacity allows.
