US Strike Disables Vessel Huda in Gulf of Oman

A vessel identified as the Huda was struck and disabled in the Gulf of Oman on 07 Nov 2026, according to a statement issued by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM). The statement confirmed that the strike targeted the ship, resulting in its disablement, but did not provide details on the vessel's flag, ownership, or cargo. CENTCOM has not released information on casualties or injuries among the crew, and no further details on the circumstances or rationale behind the strike were disclosed at the time of the announcement. The Gulf of Oman, which connects to the Strait of Hormuz, is a strategically significant waterway for global energy shipments, with a substantial share of the world's seaborne crude oil and liquefied natural gas passing through the region. Military activity and incidents involving commercial or other vessels in these waters have drawn close attention from shipping companies, insurers, and governments due to their potential impact on maritime traffic and regional security. Authorities have not indicated whether further statements or investigations into the incident will follow. Maritime monitoring groups and regional observers are expected to continue tracking developments related to the Huda and any broader implications for shipping safety in the area.
