All Crew Evacuated as BYB Othello Runs Aground off Istanbul

All 13 crew members aboard the 97-metre dry cargo vessel BYB Othello were safely evacuated after it suffered a mechanical failure and ran aground off Istanbul's Anadolu Lighthouse on 6 November. Amid severe weather and rough seas, rescue teams used a traditional breeches buoy system after sea-based evacuation proved unfeasible. The rescue boat Bayrak-1 and tug Kurtarma-11 were also deployed to the scene.
