The following day, Windward said drift models showed currents pushing the oil southwest toward the coast, with potential to reach desalination intakes and ports in Sharjah and Ajman by 22-23 Oct 2026 if the leak was not stopped. Authorities have urged fishermen and other sea users to avoid affected areas and follow official instructions, and have called on the public to rely on official sources rather than circulating rumours about the incident.
