General Cargo Ship Hoang Trieu 99 Detained in Jiaxing

The general cargo/multipurpose vessel Hoang Trieu 99 has been detained at the Chinese port of Jiaxing following a Port State Control inspection conducted on 16 Oct 2026 under the Tokyo MOU regime. Inspectors recorded six deficiencies aboard the vessel, all of which were classified as detainable. The Hoang Trieu 99 (IMO 8679364) sails under the flag of Sao Tome and Principe and has a gross tonnage of 2,972 and a deadweight of 5,415 tonnes. The vessel is managed under the ISM Code by Hoang Trieu JSC (Cong Ty Co Phan Hoang Trieu). Under the Tokyo MOU framework, a detention is issued when deficiencies found during an inspection are serious enough to render a vessel unseaworthy or non-compliant with international safety, pollution prevention or crew welfare conventions, requiring the ship to remain in port until the issues are rectified and verified by inspectors. The specific nature of the six deficiencies identified aboard the Hoang Trieu 99 was not detailed in the inspection report. The vessel will remain detained at Jiaxing until the responsible authorities confirm that corrective measures have been completed and the ship meets the required safety and regulatory standards for release.
