Two Vessels Run Aground on Turkey's Black Sea Coast

Two ships, the Banda and the Grace Romavictor, have run aground on Turkey's northern Black Sea coast west of Istanbul, according to maritime reports. Both vessels had previously been targeted in attacks in the Black Sea region. The Grace Romavictor drifted ashore after its towline snapped while it was being transferred to the Turkish port of Igneada. The vessel was unmanned at the time of the incident, with no crew reported aboard. Details on the circumstances surrounding the Banda's grounding, and whether it was under tow at the time, have not been disclosed. The Black Sea has seen heightened maritime risk in recent years, with vessels in the area reporting attacks and security incidents linked to regional conflict. Authorities in Turkey have not yet issued an official statement on the grounding of the two ships or on any response or salvage operations planned for the vessels. No information on potential environmental impact, damage assessments, or casualties has been released at this time.
