Egyptian-Flagged Container Ship EGY SKY Detained in Constanta

The container vessel EGY SKY (IMO 9366483) has been detained following a Port State Control inspection carried out at the Romanian port of Constanta on 03 Oct 2026, under the Paris MoU regime. Inspectors recorded a total of 10 deficiencies during the examination, of which four were classified as detainable, prompting authorities to hold the vessel in port until the issues are addressed and verified. EGY SKY is flagged in Egypt, has a gross tonnage of 10,308, and is managed under ISM by AK Ships. No further details regarding the specific nature of the deficiencies or the expected duration of the detention have been disclosed. The detention adds to the record of inspections carried out under the Paris MoU, which oversees port state control across a network of European ports to ensure compliance with international safety, environmental and labour standards for ships calling at its members' ports. Vessels found with serious deficiencies affecting seaworthiness, pollution prevention or crew safety can be held until corrective action is taken and confirmed by inspectors. The case remains under review by port authorities in Constanta.
