Blue Carrier Catches Fire North of Mykonos, 28 Crew And One Passenger Evacuated

A fire broke out on the car deck of the Blue Carrier 2 ferry near Mykonos, Greece, on September 25. The vessel was carrying 29 people, including 28 crew members, along with 166 trucks and 29 cars. Greek authorities deployed Coast Guard vessels, fast firefighting boats and a Fire Service vessel to tackling the blaze. No casualties were reported with all crew and passenger being rescued from the lifeboats by the passing ships. The cause and extent of the fire remained unclear.
