Containership MSC Hermes in Distress, 25 Crew Rescued

The containership MSC Hermes sent a distress call at around 8:45 a.m. on September 22, about 300 km east of Vietnam, while sailing from Shanghai to Jakarta. Following a Singapore MRCC alert, MSC Ruby rescued all 25 crew members from a lifeboat after they abandoned the vessel. All crew were safe and uninjured, with arrangements underway for their return to shore.
