Machinery Failure Prompts Towing of Togo-flagged Vessel in Istanbul Strait

The 98-metre-long, cargo vessel Anistar was towed to safety after suffering machinery failure in Turkey’s Istanbul Strait on September 21 while en route from Istanbul to Romania.\ The Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Centre sent a pilot captain and tugboats Kurtarma 6 and Kurtarma 3 to assist the disabled vessel. Anistar was subsequently towed to the Büyükdere Anchorage Area and safely anchored.
