Toxic Leak Contained at Rostock Port, Ferry Resumes Voyage

A toxic liquid leak from a railway wagon at Rostock Port, Germany, was contained on September 16, prompting the evacuation of the passenger ship Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The leak was detected during loading operations, with firefighters in chemical protection suits and water police responding. All 168 passengers and 41 crew members were safe, although three people reportedly suffered minor injuries and four crew members underwent precautionary medical examinations.
