A major fire broke out around 11:15 a.m. on 10 Sep 2026 aboard a foreign cargo vessel undergoing repairs at Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in Shandong Province, China, according to CCTV News. AIS records show the ship arrived in Qingdao on 31 August and subsequently entered a repair berth at Beihai Shipbuilding, with tracking data still showing it in the shipyard area as of the afternoon of 10 September. The vessel's involvement has not yet been officially confirmed.
