Ukrainian Navy Strikes Russian Vessel NEFRIT in Sochi

On 3 September a multipurpose support vessel, NEFRIT, was reportedly struck by a Ukrainian Navy maritime drone while in the Port of Sochi, causing a powerful explosion and smoke. The vessel supports Russia’s offshore oil and gas operations, including cargo transport, personnel transfers and subsea engineering. The strike targeted maritime infrastructure linked to Russia’s war effort, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
