Greek-Linked Tanker Hit by Projectile Off Oman

The 115,000-dwt LR2 tanker Metro Venetian was struck by a projectile off Oman on August 24, damaging its engine room and knocking out propulsion, according to UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The Liberia-flagged tanker, managed by Metrostar Management, was hit about nine nautical miles northeast of Ash Shishah. The vessel was left immobilised following the incident. All crew members were reported safe. No information was immediately available on possible environmental damage.
