Bulk Carrier GRACE BALI Detained at Sohar Port

The bulk carrier GRACE BALI was detained following a Port State Control inspection at Sohar, according to a report issued under the Indian Ocean MoU. The inspection, conducted on 11 Aug 2026, identified 11 deficiencies, one of which was classified as detainable, prompting authorities to hold the vessel in port. The GRACE BALI, which sails under the Panama flag and carries IMO number 9254496, is managed by TIGER SHIP MANAGEMENT PTE LTD under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. Port State Control inspections are carried out to verify that foreign-flagged vessels comply with international safety, environmental and labour standards, and detentions are issued when deficiencies are serious enough to pose a risk to the ship, crew or environment if the vessel were to continue operating. The Indian Ocean MoU is one of several regional Port State Control regimes that inspect vessels calling at member ports to ensure compliance with conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL and the ISM Code.
