Sea Spike Collides With Sun Shine at Chittagong Port

Sea Spike, carrying 33,000 tonnes of diesel, suffered a side-hull crack, water ingress and temporary power loss after the collision with the wheat-laden Sun Shine, which was carrying 52,000 tonnes of cargo.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard and Port Authority deployed tugs and a patrol boat to assist. The tanker was stabilised using its anchor, while authorities ordered the diesel to be unloaded and hull repairs to begin.
Sun Shine reportedly sustained no damage, with an investigation underway into the collision.
