Ambrey Supports Salvage of Tanker Caroline Bezengi Off Oman

Ambrey has been engaged to assist in the salvage operation of the tanker Caroline Bezengi, which is stranded off the coast of Oman. An international response effort is underway, involving collaboration with Omani authorities and a leading oil spill response company. Over 100 tons of salvage and oil spill equipment, specialist vessels, aircraft, and experienced personnel have been mobilised to support the operation. The salvage effort faces significant challenges due to adverse weather conditions caused by the Khareef monsoon. Despite this, specialist teams have boarded the vessel with assistance from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) to assess the situation and begin stabilising the cargo and vessel. Ed Wollaston, Director of Global Response at Ambrey, highlighted the complexity of the operation and the continuous work to mitigate environmental impact. Ambrey acknowledged the outstanding support from the Omani Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Environment Authority, and RAFO. The company has committed to providing further updates as the salvage progresses.
