The Wind Orca allided with the BG Orange, with the falling crane damaging the ship's accommodation block and several containers.
The injured individual was taken to hospital, while emergency services responded to the scene. Wind Orca later returned to Tyne Renewables Quay and BG Orange remained alongside the container terminal as authorities launched an investigation into the incident.
