Projectile Strike on Tanker Halts CPC Oil Loadings Again

Crude oil loading operations at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal off Russia's Black Sea coast were suspended again on 20 July after the tanker Nelsa was struck by a projectile during loading. The impact, between the vessel's superstructure and engine room, sparked a fire that was later brought under control. All 22 crew members were safely evacuated by CPC tugboats. The suspension follows attacks on the tankers Asia and Nissos Ios on 19 July. Oil loading had briefly resumed before being halted again after the latest incident.
