Indian Navy Intervenes After Suspected Pirate Boarding Attempted in Aden

A suspected piracy attempt targeted the merchant vessel Golden Arsenal in the Gulf of Aden on the night of 1 July after suspected pirates attempted to board the ship. The crew activated anti-piracy procedures by securing themselves in the citadel and transmitting a distress alert. The Indian Navy warship INS Trikand responded, prompting the suspected pirates to flee before they could seize the vessel. All the crew were reported safe and the vessel continued its journey.
