After abandoning the vessel the crew was located by a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft, which deployed emergency survival equipment, including a life raft. Eleven seafarers were rescued by the Ro-Ro cargo vessel Jabal Ali 9, while a U.S. Navy Seahawk helicopter recovered the remaining three after their life raft capsized.
All 14 rescued seafarers are safe and in good health aboard Jabal Ali 9, which is bound for Mumbai.
