MSC Busan Completes Major Repair at Wenchong Shipyard

The containership MSC Busan was successfully delivered and departed Wenchong Shipyard following a major repair and retrofit project. The vessel arrived at the yard on 11 Mar 2026, where the project team coordinated technical planning and budget arrangements to ensure efficient preparation. Despite facing severe weather and continuous rainfall during the repair period, Wenchong Shipyard completed all scheduled works by 5 May 2026. The scope included routine steel repairs, modifications to the engine room sewage and drainage systems, conversion of ballast tanks into sewage tanks, rectification of PSC inspection items, louver replacement, and an inclining test. MSC Busan departed the yard on 8 May 2026 for sea trials, meeting the planned delivery schedule. This project enhanced Wenchong Shipyard’s repair capabilities and strengthened its cooperation with the shipowner for future sister vessel repairs.
