Under the coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center, the vessel was escorted by a harbor pilot while tugboats Kurtarma-18, Kurtarma-19 and Kurtarma-20 supported the operation. The tanker was subsequently towed safely to anchorage by the tug Kurtarma-10.
Authorities temporarily suspended vessel traffic in both directions through the Çanakkale Strait during the operation for navigational safety. No injuries, pollution or damage were reported.
