Fiji Princess Disabled After Grounding, Passenger And Crew Safely Evacuated

A 55.52-metre passenger vessel, Fiji Princess, ran aground on a reef off Fiji on 4 April IN windy conditions, with all passengers and crew reported safe.

The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) deployed officers to assess the incident. The vessel sustained damage to its port aft section and steering system, along with hull impact, and suffered engine failure and water ingress.

All 30 passengers and crew were disembarked from the vessel. The vessel, carrying about 20,000 litres of diesel, showed no fuel tank damage. Fuel removal operations are underway with salvage support, while inspections remain delayed due to weather.
