Inspection of Oil/Chemical Tanker STI POPLAR in Koper Port Highlights Safety Drills

**STI POPLAR Cleared in Koper Inspection**
The oil/chemical tanker STI POPLAR was inspected at the port of Koper on 03 Apr 2026 under the Paris MoU. The authority carried out an expanded inspection covering accommodation and galley, ballast tanks from manholes, cargo manifold area and deck lines, engine room, navigation bridge, decks and forecastle, and the steering room. Emergency steering and fire drills, including a simulated fire in the emergency generator room, were observed. The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker, managed by Scorpio Marine Management and built in 2013, has a gross tonnage of 24,230 and an IMO number of 9696589. No deficiencies were found and the vessel was released the same day.
