Projectile Strike Triggers Fire on Thai Bulker in Hormuz

A projectile strike triggered a fire aboard the Thailand-flagged bulk carrier Mayuree Naree while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz on 11 March. The incident occurred about 11 nautical miles north of Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported. Most of the crew were evacuated after the impact, while a small team remained onboard to support emergency response operations. Following the incident, the fire has since been extinguished.
