Nine Rescued And Two Missing After Tanker Solis Strikes Fishing Vessel at Sea

Two fishermen are missing after the chemical tanker Solis collided with the fishing trawler St. Joseph in the Arabian Sea on 8 March. The trawler was anchored about 120 nautical miles off the coast of Kerala when it was struck by the Panama-flagged tanker around noon, causing the smaller vessel to sink within minutes. Nine fishermen were rescued by the tanker, while two remain missing. The Indian Coast Guard vessel ICGS Anagh transported the survivors to Vizhinjam Port, while search operations for the missing fishermen continue. Authorities have launched an investigation into the collision.
