Marine Aluminium Awarded Helideck Contract for New Westcon Yards Cable-Laying Vessel

Marine Aluminium has secured a contract to design and supply a state-of-the-art helideck for Westcon Yards AS's latest cable-laying construction vessel, hull number 168. The 130-meter vessel, intended for subsea cable-laying operations, is currently under construction at Westcon Yards Florø. After dry-docking in summer 2026, it will be towed to Westcon Yards Ølen for final outfitting. The contract includes a 22.2-meter helideck capable of accommodating Sikorsky S-61-sized helicopters, complete with a Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (DIFFS), compliant lighting, and access equipment. Helideck delivery is scheduled for Q4 2026, with Marine Aluminium emphasizing its commitment to supporting local value creation in Norway.
