Minor Fire Contained on Ship Under Construction in Nakhodka

On 8 February, a fire erupted on a vessel under construction at a ship repair yard in Nakhodka, Russia, prompting an emergency response on the scene. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Primorsky Krai, firefighters arrived to find wooden decking on the vessel’s upper deck ablaze. The fire was brought under control and extinguished after affecting an area of approximately five square metres.

A total of five firefighting units and 16 personnel were deployed during the operation. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.Authorities are continuing to assess the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage to the vessel.
