Power Failure Leaves Baltic Wind Aground on Kiel Canal

The general cargo vessel Baltic Wind was disabled by a power blackout while transiting the Kiel Canal near Schafstedt on 4 February. After briefly drifting off course, the vessel restored power and was instructed to proceed for inspection but subsequently ran aground near Breiholz. A tug refloated the vessel, which was then taken to Rendsburg for inspection. No injuries or pollution were reported.
