DAF Marine Engines

DAF, founded in 1928 as van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek, is a Dutch truck manufacturing company headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands. A division of Paccar, DAF produces cabs and axle assemblies at its Westerlo plant in Belgium, with some truck models also designed and built by Leyland Trucks in the UK. Across the global fleet, 46 vessels currently utilize DAF engines, spanning 27 distinct models. General cargo ships account for 22 of these vessels, followed by fishing vessels and bulk carriers, each with 6. The North Sea / Atlantic region shows the highest concentration of DAF-powered vessels (18), with the East Mediterranean & Black Sea (12) and Baltic Sea (7) also notable.
