Hubei Guangji New Energy Shipbuilding

Hubei Guangji Shipbuilding Heavy Industry (Hubei Guangji New Energy Shipbuilding) is a state-owned newbuilding shipyard located in Wuxue City, Hubei Province, China, along the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Established in 2022 with a registered capital of 1 billion yuan, the company is 100% owned by the State-owned Assets Management Bureau of the Wuxue Municipal People's Government. The shipyard is a key anchor enterprise of the Hubei Green Intelligent Ship Industrial Park. Its facilities include an intelligent integrated assembly workshop with an annual steel processing capacity of 200,000 metric tons, 10 horizontal slipways, and a 1,200-meter barge dock. In March 2025, the company broke ground on a major new energy ship base project representing a total investment of approximately 3.5 billion yuan, designed to achieve an annual production capacity of 1 million DWT of new energy vessels. In June 2026, Hubei Guangji signed a contract with EMARAT MARITIME for the construction of 3+3 900 TEU coastal feeder container ships, designed by the Shanghai Ship Design Institute (SDARI) and classified by the China Classification Society (CCS).
