Ship Repair Yards in Red Sea & Persian Gulf

Only two repair yards with limited docking capabilities are available in Jeddah and Suez. Jeddah Shipyard can facilitate drydockings of vessels up to 45,000 dwt, repair and maintenance of mechanical & electrical systems, pipe work and hull repairs . Suez Shipyard Company, an affiliation of the Suez Canal Authority, is located at the southern entrance of the Suez Canal for 150 years. The company has a floating dock which is said to be one of the largest dock in the world with a capacity of 55,000 tons, 302 meters in length and 55 meters in width. There are three major players in the Persian Gulf: Drydocks World’s Dubai shipyard was conceived and developed to address the repair needs of oil tankers traversing the Gulf region. Ship repair remains the core business of the yard. Its service portfolio includes ULCCs and VLCCs, bulk carriers, containerships, ro-ro vessels, cargo vessels, gas carriers, chemical tankers, offshore vessels and rigs. ASRY Shipyard in Bahrain, founded 1977, can offer 500,000 dwt drydock capablity and two large floating docks. The yard's portfolio includes also servicing offshore platforms. Saudi oil major Saudi Aramco is developing a $ 5.2 billion maritime and shipbuilding complex in the Persian Gulf. Once completed, the 1.7 square mile complex will be the largest yard of its kind in the Arabian Gulf and will offer a range of services from large shipbuilding and ship repair, offshore rig fabrication, and offshore support vessel repair.
