Two Tankers Face Threats and Explosions in Middle East Waters

Two Liberian-flagged tankers reported separate security incidents in Middle East waters on 2 August, highlighting continued risks to commercial shipping in the region. Egypt Prosperity altered course after receiving repeated threats over VHF radio and hearing an explosion some distance away. In a separate incident, On Pride reported warning shots fired in its direction and an explosion approximately 1.5 nautical miles from the vessel. No injuries were reported in either incident.
