Explosion Triggers Fire on Stolt Magnesium Off Oman

The chemical tanker Stolt Magnesium was damaged by an explosion from an unidentified external device while sailing, in the Arabian Sea during the early hours of 14 July. According to vessel manager Stolt Tankers, the blast ignited a fire in the engine room. The crew immediately launched firefighting operations and all seafarers were reported safe. The extent of the vessel's damage has not been disclosed, and the cause of the explosion remains under investigation. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
