Wagenborg Orders 10 Ice-Class 1A Multipurpose Vessels

Wagenborg Shipping B.V. has announced an order for up to ten newbuilding multipurpose vessels (MPP) with a deadweight of 7,400 tonnes each. The vessels, featuring ice-class 1A, will be built by JIANGSU DAJIN HEAVY INDUSTRY CO LTD in China with deliveries scheduled from July 2027 through June 2029. The new ships are designed by Groot Ship Design and will incorporate predominantly European components. This fleet expansion is part of Wagenborg’s long-term strategy to standardize and modernize its fleet, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability. Carisbrooke Shipping will manage technical and crew aspects, while Wagenborg will handle commercial management and chartering. The vessels will gradually replace older tonnage, strengthening Wagenborg’s presence in the Baltic and key European markets where ice-class capability is essential. This investment supports Wagenborg’s commitment to providing stable and reliable logistics solutions for export-driven industries.
