Northern Lights Awards Time Charter for CO2 Carrier

Northern Lights JV has awarded a time charter contract to the consortium of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) and Malaysia’s MISC Berhad for a newly built 12,000 m³ liquefied CO2 carrier. This marks the second vessel awarded to the “K” LINE and MISC consortium following the fleet expansion announcement on 29 January 2026. The vessel will be constructed by Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co Ltd (CSSC DSIC). Northern Lights JV is a partnership owned by Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies, supporting the Norwegian authorities’ Longship project and co-funded by the EU. The time charter award reflects ongoing efforts to expand the Northern Lights CO2 shipping fleet.
