PUGET SOUND NAVAL SHIPYARD

The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) is one of the four public shipyards operated by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). It is located in Bremerton, Washington, and is responsible for maintaining and repairing the US Navy's fleet of ships and submarines. The shipyard provides a wide range of services, including: Drydocking and repairs of ships and submarines Refueling and overhaul of nuclear-powered ships and submarines Modernization, upgrade and modification of ships and submarines Maintenance and repair of ship systems and equipment Environmental and hazardous waste management Industrial and environmental support services The PSNS & IMF is one of the largest shipyards on the west coast of the United States and is capable of handling the Navy's entire fleet of aircraft carriers and submarines, as well as a variety of other ships. The shipyard employs thousands of people and is a major economic engine for the region.
