Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd was established in 1858, with a history of more than 150 years. In 1996, XSI moved from urban area to Haicang District where it is located now. The yard has 1 dock, 2 slipways, 3 wharfs, covering an area of over 500,000 square meters, and has a deep-water coast with the length of 1.5 kilometer. In 2004, XSI began to build its first PCTC of 4,900 ceu. In 2013, with the advantages of being in the leading position of building PCTCs, XSI further improved its techniques in PCTC building practices, and obtained an order of 8,500 ceu PCTCS, which is the world’s largest PCTC at that time.
