Damen Shipyards Sharjah (DSSh) is located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in the Sharjah Hamriyah Free zone. DSSh is ideally positioned for easy access to all seven Emirates as well as providing connections to neighbouring Gulf States closer to the Straits of Hormuz. The yard is located on a 284,000 m² site. The facility is equipped with a 5,200 tons ship lift with a platform dimension of 120m x 26.5m, together with eight dry berths, a fully enclosed blasting and painting facility and new-build construction sheds totalling 4,500 m². There are also workshops covering 7,500 m² for the various trades active on the site. The yard has 1,200m of quay wall, with a draught varying between 5 m and 9 m. We have a total workforce of around 1100 people of 26 different nationalities in our three UAE locations: Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. These people are our biggest asset and we are proud that 25% of our staff has been with us for 25+ years. With all key competences in-house, including an extensive engineering division, we repair and build vessels to the highest technical and environmental standards. We are certified by LRQA to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 as well as API Q1. Our services include newbuilding of steel and aluminum vessels and repair and services of marine as well as O&G assets. We also offer offshore and afloat repair services to clients worldwide.
