The current boom of the Shipbuilding Industry is in the rise globally due to high demand for building new ships, This has helped Bangladesh to attract the attention of international shipping companies and this seeimed, a new scope for economic development for the country. Bashundhara Group, a renowned Group of Companies, planned to contribute by entering into International Shipbuilding Industry. The group was involved in this sector as Bashundhara Steel and Engineering Ltd. To achieve the goal, the up gradation works of the BSEL Shipyard are being done rapidly as per master plan and hope it will become a leading shipyard for home and abroad soon to play a great role in socio-economic development of the country. The yard has three shipways and a modern workshop where repairs and conversion are regularly done. The yard has built 2 nos. 1800 MT dwt vessels. Now laying up keel for more 14 nos. 2500 MT dwt vessel. The yard has a plan to design and construct ocean going multipurpose and container vessels in near future.more
